On the first day of her visit to the state, President Murmu inaugurated the ‘PARAM KAMRUPA‘ Supercomputer facility. A high-power active and passive component laboratory of SAMEER was also inaugurated at Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati.
The Param Kamarupa is a one-of-a-kind supercomputer in the NorthEast region. It was installed as part of the National Supercomputing Mission. It will provide advanced computing, healthcare techniques along with solutions for many issues to this region. Many components of this supercomputer developed indigenously.Â
At the same event, she virtually inaugurated Dhubri Medical College and Hospital. She also laid the groundwork for National Institute of Virology Zonal Institutes in Dibrugarh, Assam, and Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The Union government is providing support to the state government in healthcare sectors.
It is also enhancing the quality of education and training. Such type of technological development will make India one of the world leaders in supercomputing. It will enhance our country’s capacity in solving challenges for the nation as well as for the world.Â
